Trussville and Birmingham police on scene of suicide threat

Trussville and Birmingham police are in the area of Mary Taylor off of Highway 11 investigating what department officials termed as a suicide threat, this morning.

Lt. Jeff Bridges said Trussville officers intially answered the call. “The call originally came to Trussville and we responded. Our officers arrived at the scene and determined that that location is in the city of Birmingham,” Bridges said. “They stayed on the scene until Birmingham units arrived, but we have now turned it over to them since it is in the Birmingham jurisdiction.”

Bridges said his earliest information indicated a man was allegedly threatening suicide in the area of the dump off of Mary Taylor Road.  He did not have any additional information related to the case.

We will update the story as more information becomes available.
