The Pinson City Council passed resolutions Thursday night to name the election officers and set compensation for the 2012 municipal elections.
Resolutions 12-32 and 12-33 passed unanimously to name Katherine Middleton the chief inspector, Marvelyn Deese the assistant inspector, Marilyn Glen the clerk, and Charles Glenn, Jane Wade, John Middleton, Rhonda Middleton, Billy Dussett, Tracy Dussett and Faye Asmus the assistant clerks.
Chief Inspector Katherine Middleton will be compensated $200 per day for her services during the August 28 elections and, if need be, any runoff elections to be held in October. Assistant Inspector Marvelyn Deese will be compensated $175 per day and Clerk and Assistant Clerk positions will be compensated at $150 per day
.
The Council also passed resolution 12-34, which states that Pinson will utilize the services of Elections Systems & Software, Inc., to manage the election process on August 28. The services will cost the city $1,785 for use of the scanners, ballot boxes and other equipment to be used on election night.
