Construction underway for alternate subdivision road

Submitted by Debbie Babb

The groundbreaking was held on-site today, as construction began on an alternate entrance into Carrington Lakes subdivision.

Construction on the new entry has begun with completion projected for late January, said Mike Hopper from Map Development, who is leading the construction efforts.  The new road will be built at the southernmost section of Carrington Lakes Parkway and will connect the parkway with Black Jack Road, providing residents with two paved roads going in and out of the community.

“We are thrilled that the second entrance is being built,” Carrington resident Kristi Rylee said. “The new back gate will save me over thirty minutes when I go to Moody, Leeds and  I-20.”

The new entry will include a guardhouse building with card-gated entry.

“The second access has always been part of our plans for Carrington Lakes for both safety and convenience reasons,” Michael Madden of Rialto Capital, the property management firm, said.

In addition, Rialto is partnering with Stone Martin Builders, who will begin construction of new homes in November.

Carrington Lakes is an established guard-gated community off Gadsden Highway in Trussville.
