Game Recap: Hewitt 31, Huffman 6
The Huskies took on Huffman High tonight at Jack Wood Stadium.
At the kickoff, Huffman attempts a field goal on the first possession and Hewitt takes over on down but no numbers were on the board until the Huskies’ Eli Ashley intercepted the ball from Huffman. Harwell took the carry for a Husky first down and then scored for a Husky touchdown. The kick was good, putting the Huskies up 7-0 over Huffman.
Other highlights include Luke Riddle intercepting a pass for the Huskies. At the end of the first quarter, Hewitt was in the lead 7-0 over Huffman
In the second quarter, Hewitt scored on a run by Peyton Palmer with a kick by Griffin Wright is good, putting the Huskies up 14-0. Play was stopped momentarily due to an injury on the Hewitt team with 7:33 to go in the half, but soon made his way off of the field with what appeared to be an ankle or leg injury.
When play resumed, Bailey Cash intercepted a pass making it a Husky ball on the 48 yard line, and
Hewitt tried to go for it on 4th and down but failed the attempt. Huffman took possession of the ball but not for long before Hewitt intercepted a pass with 1:52 to go until halftime before the Huskies had the ball on the 8 yard line.
At the half, Hewitt held the lead 17-0 over Huffman. Back in action in, the third quarter starts out with the ball in Husky hands.
During the third, a touchdown pass to Alec Brown was good and so was the kick making the score Hewitt 24, Huffman 0. Then Huskies #15 Dawson blocked a Huffman punt making it a Hewitt ball on the Huffman 27 yard line.
The Huskies increased their lead when Luke Davis intercepted a pass and ran for a Husky touchdown. The point after was also good, putting the Huskies up 31-0 over Huffman with 1:05 to go in the 3rd quarter.
Huffman took over the ball with 8:30 left in the game and scored a touchdown but the two point conversion was no good. Hewitt 31, Huffman 6 with 3:17 left in play

Wilson makes an interception for the Huskies and runs back to the 50 yard line with less than a minute to play and tonight’s final score was Hewitt-Trussville 31, Huffman 6.
