Tickets are now on sale for Trussville’s community theatre fall performance of “The Homecoming.” Dianne Adams, of ACTA, says it will be a great event.

Based on the book that inspired the heartwarming series, The Waltons, “The Homecoming” is the story of a large family, living at the foot of a Virginia mountain, struggling hard just to survive during the Great Depression.
“The Homecoming” was written in 1964 by Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter. The original Broadway production won the 1967 Tony Award for “Best Play” and its 40th-anniversary Broadway production at the Cort Theatre was nominated for a 2008 Tony Award for “Best Revival of a Play.”
ACTA Theatre recently announced the actors in the play. Daniel Prill has been cast as Clay Boy Spencer, Laura Garrett as Olivia Spencer and Ron Landry as Clay Spencer. Others cast members are: Taylor Hively (Matthew Spencer), Zachary Garrett (Luke Spencer), Ethan Finnegan (John Spencer), Payton Tice (Pattie Cake Spencer), Nicole Thomas (Becky Spencer), Mattie Kat Holmes (Shirley Spencer), Rachel Cartwright (Elizabeth Spencer), Lavell Galloway (Rev. Dooley), Ed Potts (Grandpa Homer/Ike), Dawn Allen(Grandma Ida), Tim Cain (Sheriff), Lonzell Wilson (Charlie Sneed), Judy Wilson (Miss Etta), Suzannah Hively (Miss Emma), and Heather Holmes (City Lady). Joanna Garrett, Karlee Norton and Courtney Thomas are in the charity ensemble and church choir members. Also in the cast are Sabina Burkhead, Emma Sewell, Maddie Sewell, Anna Claire Holmes, Logan Brown and Taylor Thomas as the poor children and are also in the nativity scene.
Show dates are Dec. 7-9 and 14-16, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now at the theatre. The cost is $l2 for adults, $10 for senior adults (55 and older), and $8 for students. Tickets are paid for at the door by check or cash.
