Golden Rule Bar-B-Q owner Rick Fortenberry said tonight that a small fire in the pit would delay the restaurant’s opening on Tuesday morning

Fortenberry and Trussville fire marshal Steven Reasonover both said that the health department would be required to inspect the restaurant before reopening. Health codes require the inspection because the fire suppression apparatus over the barbeque pit had been activated.
Reasonover said the fire was minor and the damage minimal.
Fortenberry said he hoped the inspection would be complete and the restaurant would reopen by the afternoon. The Tribune will post a notice on our Facebook page when the restaurant reopens for business.
