Alabama senior defensive end Quinton Dial will not miss Monday’s Discover BCS National Championship game when No
. 2 Alabama meets No. 1 Notre Dame, according to ESPN.
Dial, a Clay native, leveled Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray in the SEC Championship Game after Murray threw an interception. The SEC reviewed the play and decided against suspending Dial. Alabama handled the matter “internally,” according to ESPN.
The BCS National Championship will be Dial’s final game as a college player. Dial, who graduated from Clay-Chalkville High School in 2009, totaled 20 tackles and two sacks this season. He has 38 career tackles and three career sacks.
Coverage of the game begins Monday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
