Plan for icy roads tonight, Friday morning

The National Weather Service forecast for tonight said conditions will be mostly cloudy during the early evening, then clearing, with a low around 27. North wind 5 to 15 mph.

After 9 pm on Thursday, temperatures will begin to dip below freezing and the melted snow will begin to turn to ice, causing hazardous driving conditions.

Trussville city and Jefferson county schools are delaying the start of school for two hours on Friday morning, but early commuters can expect icy roads and should plan ahead. The Alabama state troopers offered tips that you can read here. 

Friday’s high is expected to be 50 degrees.
