The National Weather Service in Birmingham issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Wind Advisory for the northern two thirds of the state, including Jefferson County. The outlook warns of the possibility of severe thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Wednesday with sustained winds of 25 mph and wind gust up to 35 mph. The system is expected to exit the state by mid-afternoon on Wednesday.

. Areas of fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind 10 to 15 mph. - Tuesday night– A slight chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Low around 64. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
- Wednesday– Showers and thunderstorms before 3 p.m., then a slight chance of showers. Some of the storms could be severe. Temperature falling to around 51 by 5 p.m. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph becoming southwest 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
