Pinson Valley wide receiver Earnest Robinson is headed to Auburn.
The four-star prospect has been verbally committed to the Tigers since February 2012.
Robinson thanked family members, friends, coaches and teammates.
“War Eagle, too,” he said.
Robinson caught 51 passes for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior. In his career, Robinson had 106 receptions for 1,976 yards and 33 scores.
“I just love the game of football,” Robinson said. “I just like to play.”
Robinson said Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn, who was on the Tigers’ staff before taking the Arkansas State head coaching job, was his first recruiter.
“I’m very excited,” Robinson said.
Robinson said he “tried his hardest” to persuade fellow Pinson Valley teammate linebacker Zach Cunningham to go to Auburn
.
“I know he’s going to start (at Vanderbilt) because he’s really good,” Robinson said.
Robinson said he will enroll at Auburn in June.
