The Hewitt-Trussville softball team posted a 4-1 record in the Honeybee Invitational in Mobile over the weekend.
Hewitt-Trussville posted wins over St. Paul’s (8-0 and 11-0), Mobile Christian (3-2 in eight innings) and Faith Academy (8-2). The Lady Huskies lost a semifinals game against eventual tournament champion Baker, 4-2.
Sophomore Amber Hammonds was 11-for-15 in the tournament. Junior Kristen Bittle was 7-for-12 with four doubles and seven RBIs. Sophomore Taylor Beshears was 8-for-13 with six runs scored. Beshears also had a walk-off double to beat Mobile Christian and an inside-the-park home run against Baker
. Tate Moseley was 6-for-13 in the tournament.
Freshman Callie Shields and senior Kimberly Mullins had two wins each in the tournament.
