A Trussville teenager last month won the 2013 Miss Alabama National Teenager Pageant.
Elizabeth Weyerman, 15, a student at Hewitt-Trussville High School, won the pageant March 17
. Weyerman also won the highest grade point average award at the pageant.
Weyerman will represent Alabama in the America’s National Teenager Scholarship Program in San Antonio, Texas.
Contestants who attend the national program are ones who won their states through academic, community service, interview and onstage competitions.
America’s National Teenager was founded in 1970 upon the principles of celebrating a young woman’s smarts and big heart. Winners will walk away with more than $40,000 in scholarships for college along with various other prizes.
