The 2013 Ms. Senior Trussville Pageant will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Trussville Senior Activity Center on Cherokee Drive.
There will be 12 ladies competing in the pageant, said Senior Center Director Sandi Wilson.
The Ms. Senior Trussville Pageant is a preliminary pageant to the Ms. Senior Alabama Pageant. Ladies are judged based on poise, talent, stage presence and their overall philosophy of life and interview.
“It is our mission here at the Trussville Senior Activity Center to offer something for senior adults of all ages, interest and backgrounds and in doing so we offer many different programs and opportunities to cater to our participants,” Wilson said. “One such event that we have come to realize was a true blessing to all those who participated and was a part of is the Ms. Senior Trussville Pageant.”
The Ms. Senior Trussville Pageant was started in 2003. From 2003 until 2012, several Ms. Senior Trussville winners placed in the state competition: two Ms. Congenialities, one first runner-up and two Ms. Senior Alabama who placed in the top 15 and top 10 in Ms. Senior Nationals.
Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. is an organization that honors women who have reached the “Age of Elegance,” 60 years or older. It’s a non-profit organization designed to enrich the lives of senior women while also allowing them to share their experiences, wisdom and interests with others.
