The first annual Revolution Music Festival was Oct. 2 at Palmerdale United Methodist Church.
The Rhett Walker Band, Rush of Fools and All Things New performed as part of the Come To The River Tour.
The Rhett Walker Band earlier this year was nominated for a 2013 Grammy Award. The band’s song “When Mercy Found Me” was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song.
The band was also nominated for three 2013 Dove Awards, including for New Artist of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year and Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year.
The Rhett Walker Band, from Nashville, Tenn., formed in 2011. Its debut single, “When Mercy Found Me,” was released in April 2012 and it reached No. 5 on the Christian AC Indicator & AC Monitored chart in September 2012.
The band Rush of Fools originated in 2005 in Birmingham. The band burst onto the Christian music scene in 2007 with its hit “Undo,” for which it earned ASCAP Song of the Year honors and garnered four Dove Award nominations.
All Things New is a Christian group that originated in Orlando, Fla. It released its first full length studio album in April.
The annual event will be held each year on the Wednesday before the Alabama Butterbean Festival.
