The Trussville City Council on Tuesday voted to shake up its council positions.
For the next year, Councilman Buddy Choat will serve as the city council president. Councilman Alan Taylor will serve as council pro-tem. For the past year, Brian Plant has served as the city council president and Choat has been the pro-tem.
Councilman Anthony Montalto made the motions, noting that when the council was elected last year it vowed to serve in a one-year rotating basis for the leadership roles so that each councilman gains experience.
“It’s been a good year,” Montalto said.
Plant has been on the Trussville City Council since 2000. Choat has been on the city council since 2008. Taylor is serving his first four-year term as a city councilman.
Choat and Taylor will assume their new roles Nov. 4.
