By Gary Lloyd

Two people are dead after a motorcycle crash in the 5500 block of Dug Hollow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Phillip Russell identified the victims as Stephen Scott Campbell, 29, of Pinson, and DeAnna Renae Kee, 25, of Jasper.

The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. Saturday. The accident involved a motorcycle and a car. The investigation indicates that the motorcycle was attempting to pass when it collided head-on with another car.

Campbell, the driver of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead on the scene. Kee was seriously injured and airlifted to an area hospital but later died. The driver of the car was not injured.
