TRUSSVILLE — Both Hewitt-Trussville varsity basketball teams suffered tough home losses to Mountain Brook on Monday night.
The Lady Huskies fell 61-49. Sophomore Gabby Hill led Hewitt-Trussville (6-3) with nine points. For Mountain Brook (7-0), Collier Ogilvie and Mary Katherine Pinson scored 14 points apiece.
Hewitt-Trussville trailed by just three points at halftime before Mountain Brook pulled away in the second half.
The Mountain Brook boys team drubbed Hewitt-Trussville, 81-48. Senior guard Jarvis Calhoun and junior point guard Carter Pharis scored 10 points apiece for Hewitt-Trussville (7-2).
Mountain Brook was led by TaWarren Grant, who notched a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Three other Spartans scored in double figures.
