TRUSSVILLE — Trussville native and Miss Point Mallard Katie Malone is releasing a cookbook to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.
The cookbook, “From Our House, for the House,” includes 465 recipes from citizens throughout the United States. Local and national celebrities who provided recipes include Bill “Bubba” Bussey, Miss America 2013, Alabama head football coach Nick Saban, Auburn head football coach Gus Malzahn and Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby. All proceeds benefit The Ronald McDonald House Charities, Malone’s personal platform within the Miss America Organization.
Those interested in ordering a cookbook may do so at www.mad4rmh.com. Orders placed by Dec. 13 will be delivered by Christmas. Copies are also available for purchase at the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham for $15 each.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for families of children undergoing treatment at Children’s Hospital of Alabama.
Malone, a 2010 Hewitt-Trussville High School graduate, was crowned Miss Point Mallard in July, earning her a place in the 2014 Miss Alabama Pageant at Samford University next year.
Malone earlier this year finished as a semifinalist in the 2013 Miss Alabama Pageant, finishing in the top 11. Malone competed as Miss North Jefferson Area this year, her third Miss Alabama Pageant.
