Pinson Christmas tree lighting moved to Saturday

PINSON — The city of Pinson’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Triangle Park has been moved from tonight to Saturday.

Mayor Hoyt Sanders said the tree will be lit at the conclusion of the Christmas parade, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Sanders said choirs from some of the local schools will not perform at the tree lighting Saturday.

Parade floats will launch at Pinson Valley High School and come to a stop at Triangle Park on Saturday.
