TRUSSVILLE — Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club has announced its recipient of the Don Haisten Student of the Month Award for December.
The recipient was Loftin Hall, a senior at Clay-Chalkville High School. He received a gift card donated by Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q.
Hall will graduate in May with a Diploma of Distinction, which means he’s earned his credits taking rigorous courses and maintaining excellent grades. Hall is an active member in the Clay-Chalkville High School symphonic, jazz, and concert bands. He has received numerous honors including first chair French horn (grades 9-12), 2013 Band Captain, All-County Band, Auburn University High School Honor Band, UAB All-Star Marching Band, Mississippi State Honor Band, and a participant of the University Southern Mississippi Horn Day 2013.
Hall has volunteered with the Birmingham Firehouse Shelter, Safe Haven, Clay Tornado Relief, Operation Christmas Child, and has taken mission trips with his church. He has also been employed at the Boys and Girls Club. He plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and will audition for the university’s music department in January.
