PINSON — The Pinson Valley varsity girls and boys basketball teams breezed past Class 5A, Area 11 foe Moody on Thursday night at Mike Dutton Gymnasium.
The girls won 53-30.
Junior Alex Lowery led the Lady Indians (3-9) with 21 points. Nahtika Belser scored 12 points and Maralie McKinney added 10 points. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for Pinson Valley.
The boys trounced Moody, 75-23. Pinson Valley led 30-6 after the first quarter and cruised from there. Senior Zach Jackson led the way for Pinson Valley (6-6) with 21 points. Junior Donevan Waldrop scored 14 points and sophomore Cornell Hale posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
