Trussville K-Mart closing? ‘Bad rumor,’ company spokesman says

By Gary Lloyd

TRUSSVILLE — Rumors have circulated for weeks about the future of the K-Mart in the Trussville Shopping Center on Chalkville Mountain Road.

Sears Holdings Corporate Communications Director Howard Riefs has quelled the notion, calling it “a bad rumor.”

“There are no plans to close that store,” Riefs said Monday.

In other business news, Trussville’s Old Navy will move to Leeds on Wednesday and Wintzell’s Oyster House is planning to open a Trussville location this spring.
