Pedestrian killed on Chalkville Mountain Road identified

GRAYSON VALLEY — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Grayson Valley on Sunday night, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 6:15 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in the 5600 block of Chalkville Mountain Road near Grayson Valley Drive. Deputies arrived to find a woman had been struck by a car.

The woman was identified by Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates as Blanca Canales, 50, of Grayson Valley.

Center Point paramedics responded.

Canales was pronounced dead on the scene.
