TRUSSVILLE — So far, the Trussville, Clay and Pinson areas have dodged the brunt of the winter weather, but that may change Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has extended to Winter Storm Warning for Jefferson and St. Clair counties until 6 a.m. Thursday.
Forecasters expect the rain to transition to snow after noon and continue until midnight locally.
- Wednesday — Rain before noon, then rain, possibly mixed with snow between noon and 3pm, then snow after 3pm. High near 36. East wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
- Wednesday night — Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 27. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
