CLAY — Three area basketball teams play in sub-regional games tonight.
The Clay-Chalkville girls basketball team hosts Huntsville at 6 p.m. Clay-Chalkville, the Class 6A, Area 9 champion, is 25-6. Huntsville is 22-8. Should Clay-Chalkville win, it will face the winner of Huffman-Mountain Brook in the Northeast Regional semifinals at Jacksonville State University.
The Clay-Chalkville boys basketball team travels to No. 3 Lee-Huntsville for a 7 p.m. contest. The Clay-Chalkville boys are 22-9. Lee-Huntsville is 24-5. Should Clay-Chalkville win, it will face the winner of Gardendale-Mountain Brook in the Northeast Regional semifinals at Jacksonville State University.
In Class 5A, the Pinson Valley boys basketball team, the Class 5A, Area 11 champion, hosts No. 10 Ramsay at 7 p.m. at Mike Dutton Gymnasium. Pinson Valley is 18-10. Ramsay is 17-13. Ramsay eliminated the Indians from last year’s playoffs in the sub-regional round. Should Pinson Valley win, it will face the winner of Arab-Etowah in the Northeast Regional semifinals.
