PINSON — The Pinson Valley softball team made the most of its seven hits and beat Class 5A, Area 11 foe Springville 4-3 on Tuesday.
Springville got 11 hits compared with just seven for Pinson Valley, but Springville stranded 13 on base.
Pinson Valley, now 3-0 in the area, scored all four of its runs in the fifth inning. Springville scored two runs in the seventh inning, but the Lady Indians held on.
Dallas Payton had three RBIs for Pinson Valley on a bases-clearing triple in the fifth. The other run came on an RBI groundout by Nicole Fisher. Lauren Keplinger got the complete game win, striking out eight Springville batters.
