BIRMINGHAM — Visit one of the 42 Birmingham area Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers locations during the month of April and $1 from every car serviced will be donated to Children’s of Alabama as part of the Change-A-Life campaign.
The Trussville location on Main Street will be donating $2 for every car serviced April 1.
Funds raised will go toward the Hope and Cope program at the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s. Since 2008, Express Oil Change has donated nearly $250,000 for the art therapy program that helps address the emotional needs of children with serious blood disorders and cancer, providing them an outlet to express their feelings and experiences.
“This program is immensely helpful to cancer patients at Children’s. We are truly honored to have a community partner like Express Oil,” said Dr. Raymond G. Watts, MD, director of the UAB Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and a professor of Pediatrics at UAB.
The Hope and Cope program provides support and services including art and music therapy from diagnosis onward.
“We hope our loyal patrons and new customers will come out and help us support Children’s of Alabama,” said Ricky Brooks, CEO of Express Oil Change and Service Center. “It’s an outstanding organization that focuses on finding a cure for devastating childhood diseases and giving much-needed hope to patients and their families.”
