BIRMINGHAM — Former Hewitt-Trussville baseball and football player Jimmy Brown, now playing baseball at Miles College, had the opportunity to play an exhibition game against the Birmingham Barons on Monday night at Regions Field.
Miles lost the game 5-0.
Brown is an outfielder for Miles College, the first college team to play against the Barons. Brown started the game.
This is Brown’s first year with Miles College.
“I feel extremely blessed to have had this opportunity,” Brown said. “In fact, when the National Anthem was played, I just could not control my smiles.”
Brown, a 2011 Hewitt-Trussville High School graduate, originally signed to play football at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.
