Cougars eliminated from playoff contention

By Gary Lloyd

CLAY — With its 1-0 loss at Gadsden City on Tuesday night, the Clay-Chalkville baseball team will miss the Class 6A playoffs this season.

According to state records, this is the first time Clay-Chalkville has missed the playoffs since the 1999 season. It’s only the second time in school history that the school’s varsity baseball team will not compete in postseason play.
