MONTGOMERY — A Clay-Chalkville football player will play in the North-South All-Star football game in July, it was announced Thursday.
Offensive lineman Josh Davis was selected as one of 74 senior student-athletes to play in the game, part of the 18th annual Alabama All-Star Sports Week competition in Montgomery from July 21-25.
The game will be played July 24 at the Cramton Bowl.
Davis, a 6-foot, 298-pounder, was named as an Alabama Sports Writers Association honorable mention player in Class 6A last season as a senior.
The South staged a dramatic comeback in the second half to win last year’s game 22-21. The South holds a 29-23-2 edge in the North-South series, which began in 1948.
