CLAY — Former Clay-Chalkville and UAB running back Darrin Reaves has agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers.
Reaves was not drafted during this weekend’s NFL Draft.
Reaves will likely sign with the Panthers next week.
Reaves signed with UAB after his senior season at Clay-Chalkville High School and rushed 79 times for 372 yards as a freshman. Reaves in 2012 rushed for 1,037 yards and a school-record 13 touchdowns, while catching 41 passes for 302 yards and one score. He was named a Conference USA First Team selection. As a junior at UAB last season, Reaves rushed 201 times for 928 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named an honorable mention All Conference USA player.

In other area NFL Draft news, several reports have stated that former Pinson Valley High School and North Carolina State defensive lineman Carlos Gray will sign with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent.
