By Gary Lloyd

TRUSSVILLE — Luke Bigham, a Trussville resident and actor known for his role in “Talladega Nights” The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” in 2006, was injured in the five-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Main Street in Trussville.

Bigham played 10-year-old Ricky Bobby in the comedy that starred Will Ferrell. Bigham was transported to a local hospital after sustaining injuries in the Wednesday wreck around 8 a.m.

Bigham said he got knocked out during the wreck’s impact and “don’t know what happened.”

The wreck is still under investigation, but it appears that speed may have been a contributor to the crash, Trussville Police Department Lt. Eric Rush said.

No charges have been filed at this time.
