TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville girl missing since Tuesday has been located safely in Texas.
Trussville Police Department Lt. Jeff Bridges said 14-year-old Lindsay Alford was located Thursday afternoon in Baytown Harris, Texas. She’s in the custody of the Department of Youth Services until her family can pick her up.
Alford had last been seen Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. jogging along Queenstown Road in Trussville. She was wearing black shorts and a black shirt with “Swag” written across it. Bridges said the department had a runaway report and was investigating.
Bridges said the department felt “very confident” that Alford was not abducted. He said she got in an 18-wheeler with a truck driver bound for Jackson, Miss. Crime Stoppers and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation were notified.
Bridges said the girl was located after local and state agencies were notified.
