Trussville athletics director warns of possible scam

By Gary Lloyd

TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Schools Athletics Director Karen Johns is warning people of a possible scam.

In an email from Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diane Poole, the information states that a man is allegedly going around the Birmingham area who claims he’s an assistant coach for various schools.

He allegedly asks for $299 for a poster advertisement, with all the proceeds going to the school.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jack Self said the office has not received any reports relating to this. Trussville Police Department officials did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
