TRUSSVILLE — New Alabama House District 44 Rep. Danny Garrett spoke to the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday at the Trussville Civic Center.
Garrett said he knocked on 3,500 doors during his campaign. The people he spoke with told him about their concerns. He summarized the top issues he sees for the area as Obamacare, the feeling that the country is on the wrong track, distrust of politicians, gun control, Common Core and the sense of hopelessness regarding the government.
He said his vision is for the communities in his area is to put aside differences and come together to work for what is best for all. Garrett plans to get Alabama back in the top 10 in the country for small businesses.
Garrett takes office Nov. 5.
The chamber recognized Fresh Value Marketplace as its July Customer Service Award recipient. Store Manager Calvin Pettigrew accepted the award on the store’s behalf.
