Heat is the focus of Sunday’s weather forecast

TRUSSVILLE –Hot will be the word of the day in Sunday’s weather forecast from the National Weather Service in Birmingham. While heat advisories don’t include Jefferson County, neighboring counties are covered and the temps will feel like 100 degrees or more, locally.

  • Sunday -Mostly sunny, with a high near 98. Light southwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
  • Sunday Night -A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
  • Monday -A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 92. Light west wind becoming northwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning.
  • Monday Night -Clear, with a low around 64. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.
