HOOVER — The Hoover Police Department has charged a former caregiver at South Haven Health and Rehab with physically abusing an 80-year-old patient.

This case was brought to the attention of South Haven administrators and police after a family member suspected their relative was being abused. Evidence gathered led to a warrant being issued for the arrest of Taneka Kiera Hopkins, of Pinson.
