TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council on Tuesday approved three resolutions to remove stop signs from streets in the downtown Trussville area.
Stop signs will be removed from Kay Avenue at Birch Street, Highland Avenue at Club Drive and Edgeview Avenue at Debbie Drive.
Each of those streets is currently a three-way or four-way stop. With the removal of these signs on the through roads, they will become either one-way or two-way stops.
This move was recommended by the Public Safety Committee after consideration in its Nov. 20 meeting.
Councilman Brian Plant said stop signs in these areas are “redundant” and their removal is for the “ease of traffic flow.”
