TRUSSVILLE — One person will be charged in the Jan. 9 case of a vehicle driving the wrong way on the Interstate 59 southbound ramp at Deerfoot Parkway in Trussville, causing a two-vehicle crash.
Trussville Police Department Capt. Jeff Bridges said the driver of the vehicle going the wrong way will be charged with reckless endangerment. The bond will be $1,000. The driver also received a ticket for driving while his license was revoked, Bridges said.
Bridges did not release the driver’s name because he has not been arrested yet. Bridges said the driver is in the hospital. He said he didn’t know his medical condition.
Bridges said at the time of the accident that one car came up the southbound entrance ramp the wrong way and struck another vehicle. The female driver of the vehicle going the correct way sustained minor injuries, Bridges said.
Bridges said the driver of the vehicle going the wrong way was transported via LifeSaver.
Another passenger in the vehicle driving the wrong way possibly left the vehicle on foot before police arrived, Bridges said.
