JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency on Monday went live with an alert notification system.
The Everbridge Citizen Alert Notification System allows users to be alerted about emergencies and other important community news.
The system enables Jefferson County EMA to provide users with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.
Users will receive time-sensitive messages wherever they specify, such as their home, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages and more.
