CALERA — The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ golf team notched a first-place finish last Monday.
The Huskies came away on top of the Pelham Panther Classic field with a team shot total of 298. The Huskies, coached by Chad Dahlke, beat tournament runner-up Bob Jones by 15 strokes.
Hewitt-Trussville was led by Logan Archer, who took a low round of 70 into the clubhouse. His 1-under work was good enough to claim the low medalist award.
A balanced round by Archer’s teammates solidified the victory. Charley Parvin shot a 75, Carden McCay shot a 76, Reed Love finished with a 77 and B.J. Scott turned in an 80.
Zane Hood competed for the Huskies as an individual, and cupped a hole-in-one on the back nine. He sent the ball 191 yards off the 13th tee box and watched it roll in the hole.
