ONEONTA — The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ golf teams were in action last week.
The varsity squad won the Tom Bell Memorial at Limestone Springs in Oneonta. With the tournament shortened to 27 holes, the team shot 440 to hold off defending champion Mountain Brook by a single shot. Senior Logan Archer finished fifth overall to make the all-tournament team.
Other varsity team members include Carden McCay, Charley Parvin, Reed Love and B.J. Scott.
The junior varsity team had similar success, winning the Bert McGriff Invitational in Cullman. The team shot 328 to win its division. Nick Romano, Zane Hood, Noah Dennis, Dawson Atkinson and Logan McCracken competed in the tournament.
