BIRMINGHAM –The Jefferson County sheriff’s office is seeking information regarding the whereabouts of 75-year-old Timothy Eugene Rich who was last seen visiting friends in Pinson on Sunday evening.
The friends said Rich was with them at their home on Chestnut Lane near Pinson until about 8:15 p.m.when he left for his home in Pell City. He never made it back to his home, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s report described Rich as a white male 5’09” and 150 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen driving a white 2012 Nissan Altima.
According to detectives, Rich’s credit card was used to pay for gas at a convenience story in Corinth, Miss. at 11 a.m. Monday morning.
UPDATE: Rich has since been found safe in Mississippi. Around 11 p.m. on Monday, the Hancock County Mississippi Sheriff’s Office notified the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office that he had been found unharmed.
Rich was discovered by authorities when he failed to stop at a check point in southern Mississippi. According to a press release, Rich stated that he had a lot on his mind and needed to go for a drive.
