Relay For Life of East Jefferson will be hosting its annual Survivor Dinner on Thursday, May 14, 6:30 p.m., at Trussville Civic Center. Cancer survivors from Trussville and surrounding communities (Clay, Chalkville, Pinson, Center Point, Argo, Grayson Valley, etc.) and their family members are invited to attend.
Guest speaker will be William Caldwell, a local fireman and cancer survivor. The Trussville Civitan Club is sponsoring the event.
Reservations are now being accepted and can be made by emailing the survivor’s name and the number in his or her party to eastjeffersonalrelay@gmail.com. The dinner is free-of-charge to all who attend.
Survivors are also invited to help kick off the Relay For Life of East Jefferson event on May 16 by participating in a special Survivors Lap. The festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the Historic Cahaba Project Mall in Trussville.

According to the American Cancer Society, a cancer survivor is anyone who has ever heard the words, “You have cancer.”
