PINSON – After serving as the principal at Leeds High School for four years, Michael Turner is expected to take over the same role at Pinson Valley High School.
“As a Leeds parent, we are very sad about (Turner) moving on, but we wish him the best,” wrote a Facebook user. “You all are very blessed to have him! He will do a fine job of guiding and instructing your young ones! You will come to admire and appreciate him, I promise!”
Turner has 15 years of experience as an educator, nine of which have been spent as an administrator. Turner is expected to replace former Pinson Valley principal Terrence Brown.
Turner received his Bachelor Degree from Miles College before furthering his education at Jacksonville State University, where he received his Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration and Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.
Turner gained experience as the principal at Leeds Middle School before stepping in as the principal at Leeds High School in 2011. The longtime educator has served as a high school teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal.
