LINCOLN – Head coach Scott Johnson and the 9U Husky Baseball Club team brought home the top prize of the Grand Slam Alabama State Tournament over the weekend in Lincoln.
The Husky Baseball Club, which was developed in October of 2014, presents an opportunity for youth baseball players in Trussville to further develop their game.
The Huskies’ roster is made up of 11 players that navigated the tournament bracket, winning the championship on Sunday.
After winning the Grand Slam Alabama title, Johnson’s squad now looks to prepare for the Grand Slam World Series on June 14 in Panama City, Fla.
Here is this year’s 9U roster: Trace Barlock, Ryan Davis, Jathan Fulmer, Gavin Isbell, Drew Johnson, Brett Moseley, Brodie Payne, Carson Wideman, Lawson Wood, Rob Wrigt and Carson Zeitvogel.
Johnson is joined on the Trussville coaching staff by Henry Wideman, Eric Wood, Bobby Wright and C.J. Zeitvogel.
