CENTER POINT —For the second time in two days, deputies responded to shots fired in the 1500 block of Charter East Circle only to find that the victim had been transported to a convenience store in the 700 block of Old Springville Road, Randy Chirstian said in a statement released Sunday evening.
Sergeant Jack Self said it was too early to know if the incidents were connected.
“It’s certainly an angle we’ll look at,” Self said.
At about 5:15 p.m. Sunday deputies were called to Charter East Circle in Center Point to investigate a report of shots being fired.
An adult male victim was struck by gunfire and he was driven away from the scene to a convenience store on Old Springville Road where paramedics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
Deputies say it is not yet clear what led to the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available, according to Christian.
