Congratulations to these local students for their academic achievements.
Joni Prater of Pinson and Patrick LeBerte of Trussville were named to the Spring Semester 2015 President’s List at Gadsden State Community College. Full-time student who earn a semester grade point average of 4.0 and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of college-level work are eligible for the list.
Gregory Leopard and Elizabeth Smith of Trussville and James Garner of Pinson were named to the Spring Semester 2015 Dean’s List at Gadsden State Community College. Full-time students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above but below 4.0 and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of college-level work are eligible for the list.
Brindon Tyler Sutton, a rising junior economics and Spanish major at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester. A graduate of The Altamont School, he is the son of Brian and Christina Sutton of Pinson. Students earning a position on the dean’s list must have a grade point average of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 GPA scale for the semester.
HORNE LLP, one of the top 50 accounting and business advisory firms in the nation, recently welcomed Megan Hudson of Trussville as a summer accounting intern. A total of 19 accounting students were selected for the highly competitive internship program. Hudson, a student at Mississippi College, is completing her internship in tax services in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Joseph Roberts son of Scott and Alandra Roberts of Trussville, was named to the dean’s list at Jacksonville State University for the 2015 spring semester with a 3.72 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Joseph is on football scholarship at JSU.
The University of Alabama Jefferson County Alumni Chapter has recently elected officers for the 2015 – 2016 year. They are: James Ezell of Cahaba Heights, president; Marguerite Moore of Pell City, president-elect; Jenifer Brewe of Hoover, secretary; Nick Grabowski of Crestline and Callie Ventress of Mountain Brook, treasurers; Christy Roach of Trussville, membership enrollment; Mark Burr and Drew Kirk, both of Hoover, scholarship.
The following students were named to the Spring 2015 Dean’s list at Samford University: Kayla M. Bower, Robert B. McNeill and Savannah S. White of Pinson; Lindsay M. Caddell, Dylan E. Rigg, Lin W. Le, Karen A. McMurry, Cori M. Harris, Meredith M. Hunter, Amy K. McCormack, Jacob W. Wilks, Matthew T. Martin and Hope J. May of Trussville. To qualify for Samford’s dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.
