TRUSSVILLE – Hewitt-Trussville offensive lineman Brandt Selesky has received his first scholarship offer just weeks prior to the start of his senior campaign.
The returning starter and member of the first annual All-Tribune football team went to Twitter to announce the news last weekend.
“Super excited to receive my first offer from Harding University,” posted Selesky.
Head coach Josh Floyd also went to Twitter for a congratulatory post.
“Congratulations to Hewitt-Trussville lineman [Brandt Selesky] on his first offer from Harding University! Great player, proud of you, Brandt,” posted Floyd.
The upcoming senior anchors the Huskies’ offensive front as a returning starter at center. He finds great comfort playing the position his father, Ron Selesky, has taught him so much about. Ron is a former NFL center who played for the Minnesota Vikings, San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.
“Center is where I feel the most comfortable and confident,” said Selesky. “That is the position that my dad played in the NFL, so I have been able to learn all of the ins and outs of the position.”
He added that Harding is a program he would love to eventually sign with, but he has no timetable for making a verbal commitment.
“It is very exciting to be wanted by a school like Harding that has a great football and academic tradition,” said Selesky. “My offer is a product of a lot of hard work, not just mine, but everyone involved.”
