PINSON —Sergeant Jack Self of the Jefferson County sheriff’s office said a tip led to the Mississippi arrest of a Pinson man in connection to the attempted fire bombing of his mother-in-law’s 6100 Elm Avenue home on Sunday.
Police arrested David Lee Galbreath in Greenville Miss. on Thursday.
Self said deputies were speaking with Galbreath’s estranged wife at her home on Brumbeloe Drive after she called to report that Galbreath had driven by her home and violated a protective custody order. During that interview, Galbreath drove by the home again, Self said.
Deputies gave chase, but were unable to locate him.
Galbreath was then seen outside of his mother-in-law’s home on Elm Avenue. That’s when law enforcement found that Galbreath had thrown a Molotov cocktail at the Elm Avenue home, but the homemade bomb didn’t ignite.
Later, deputies had returned to Brumbeloe Drive to speak with the victim again. While deputies were there, Galbreath called her cell phone.
The deputy answered the phone and asked Galbreath where he was.
“He told our deputy, ‘Y’all will have to find me,'” Self said. “So, we did.”
